Everton and Brighton and Hove Albion could be set for a tussle with Bayern Munich as all three clubs eye up VfB Stuttgart striker Nick Woltemade.
That's according to Sport BILD, who report that Everton and Brighton have joined Bayern in 'closely monitoring' the 23-year-old's performances.
The newspaper explains that Bayern have recently made contact with Woltemade about a move as they seek a back-up to Harry Kane this summer.
They're not the only side closely monitoring the German U21 international, though, as Everton and Brighton have already put him on their radar.
Indeed, both clubs are believed to have sent scouts to Stuttgart's MHP Arena several times to watch him in person.
Brighton's interest is believed to have intensified after Woltemade scored a hattrick for Germany's U21s against Spain on Tuesday evening. They've contacted his entourage to ask about his contract situation and are discussing him internally with Fabian Hürzeler.
The big problem for the Seagulls and Everton may be his price tag. Woltemade does not have a release clause in his current contract and Stuttgart will only negotiate a deal worth €40m. The player is also not currently considering making a move. He wants to finish the season first and is fully focused on that.
On thing is certain, though, and that is if he continues to develop as he has so far, more interested parties are likely to join Everton and Brighton before the summer transfer window.
