Everton 'first to show an interest' in negotiating with player – Free agent could be January solution

Everton were the first side to show an interest in negotiating with Willian as he eyes a move back to the Premier League.
That's according to TNT Sports Brasil, who report Everton are the first to move for the veteran, who is available on a free transfer.
Willian has been linked with a return to the Premier League this month after leaving Greek side Olympiacos.
He is currently without a club and seemingly keen to return to the Premier League. He has previously had spells with Chelsea, Arsenal and Fulham in England. Indeed, his decision to leave the latter now looks like a mistake.
Everton have been credited with an interest and TNT Sports Brasil say they were the first to 'show an interest in a negotiation'. There is no mention of whether they have now spoken to the 36-year-old.
They are in desperate need of reinforcement at right-wing, with Jack Harrison not working out this season. The question is whether they would want a player of his age. Afterall, their squad is the oldest in the Premier League.
With a limited transfer budget and needs across the squad, though, Willian could provide a short-term solution. The club have strong links to his agent Kia Joorabchian too. He was a regular at Everton during the Farhad Moshiri era.
That means less now that the Friedkin Group are in charge, but he does have connections on Merseyside.
Whether Willian fancies a move there, we would suggest he'd prefer to head back to London, remains to be seen.
