Everton last minute exit now floated – Friedkin help to get deal they want, could be pressure piled on club

Last week, there was a clear indication that Torino’s move for Everton striker Beto was becoming increasingly complicated.
This was because of the major gap in valuation between the two clubs and it was forcing the Italian club to look at other potential targets.
Monday saw a bit of hope build, with Everton’s pursuit for a new striker making the Italian media believe Torino’s Beto chances had increased.
TuttoSport have today reported on a pontential twist late in the market.
Torino have not gone beyond €14-15m for the striker, with Everton still at a figure of €20m. It is the injury situation at Goodison Park that is forcing them to rethink, with Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Armando Broja both out of action.
Due to this, David Moyes' side need a new striker and are looking at the likes of Ajax’s Brian Brobbey and Rangers' Hamza Igamane.
If they do land a striker, Roma could emerge as a concrete option for Beto late in the January transfer window.
Roma want a centre-forward this month and Udinese’s Lorenzo Lucca is also an option, but a move for Beto could be helped by the common Friedkin ownership.
There’s a chance Roma being dragged back in could be to put pressure on Torino, with an intermediary trying to prod the Turin club into upping their offer.
Alternatively, Everton getting a new striker and Roma paying them what they want for Beto may be a nice way for the Friedkins to round off the window.
