On Friday, we covered multiple claims from Brazil which stated Aston Villa have made an offer to sign Wesley França from Flamengo.

The fullback was considered the best in the Brasileirão last season, and Aston Villa have reportedly offered €15m for his signature. That wasn’t considered enough and it was later reported Flamengo are expecting considerably more having also rejected €12m from Bournemouth and €20m from Atalanta.

Everton have now been pulled into the running, with Saturday’s edition of Brazilian newspaper O Dia covering Globo Esporte reports that the Toffees and AC Milan have made contact with Flamengo.

According to the report, Milan have offered €20m and Everton ‘intend to reach that amount’.

However, Flamengo now believe they can get ‘at least €30m’ for Wesley, which feels somewhat ambitious. They’re apparently prepared to wait until the summer, and after the Club World Cup, to do so.

Whether that’s a negotiating position to pressure the likes of Everton and Aston Villa remains to be seen.

Wesley made 51 appearances last season, with the 21-year-old playing the majority of those at right-back.
