Nottingham Forest are naturally going to have plenty of clubs keeping an eye on a player or two given their unbelievable season to date.

The brilliant thing about Nottingham Forest‘s rise to second place in the Premier League is that it’s been a complete team effort, there’s not one player who’s not pulling his weight.

Of course, Chris Wood’s 11 goals have helped massively, but it’s also been the defensive side of things that has proved to be the biggest difference compared to last season.

Nuno Espirito Santo has more than played his part too. His most recent stroke of genius saw Morgan Gibbs-White take up Murillo’s position which led to a goal against Everton.

Nottingham Forest are catching the eyes of pundits, and Chris Sutton is the latest to link a player with a potential move to another club.

Chris Sutton tells Manchester United to make a move for Murillo in January

Murillo picked up an injury against Everton and there’s been no signal as to exactly how long he’ll be out for just yet.

However, that won’t stop the rumours ahead of January, with Real Madrid already supposedly taking an interest in Murillo.

Chris Sutton is trying to throw another team into the ring.

Writing in a short column for the Daily Mail newspaper page 59 (Monday 30th January), Chris Sutton has told Manchester United to make a move for Murillo.

He states.

‘He is an absolute machine – a stockier version of Martin Keown. The Brazilian is like a rash, he’s all over people and roughs them up because he is so powerful, strong and fast… He’s like a bull.

‘Keep in mind, too, that he is only 22 and just looks to be getting better and better. He’s been really impressive this season for Nottingham Forest and is someone Amorim should look at.’

Keeping Murillo in January is as important as any signing

Losing Murillo could be the difference between getting a Champions League spot and missing out on Europe entirely, he’s that important.

Murillo has even earned comparisons to William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes this season for his performances.

If the Brazilian does end up being sold at some point then he’ll likely attract a record fee of above £80 million when you consider that Harry Maguire cost that price.

Despite Evangelos Marinakis being a businessman, he’ll be wise enough to know how important he is to his own dreams coming true at the City Ground.
