Football study shows player Nottingham Forest signed for £15m could now be worth treble

Nottingham Forest currently have a squad brimming with talent and 10 players are currently on international duty.
The club has come a long way in just over two years since winning promotion back to the Premier League.
Forest are fifth in the Premier League at the moment and with 11 games played, Nuno Espirito Santo has laid some solid foundations.
The Reds were beaten 3-1 by Newcastle last time out and face Arsenal away at the weekend in a game that provides Forest with a stern test.
Right now, the squad is the best it’s been for years at the City Ground and with the international break now upon us, it’s a good chance to take stock.
All sorts of reports and statistics are doing the rounds and if one football study is to be believed, Forest could be in line to make serious profit in the future.
Nottingham Forest player sees his value treble in one season
Forest have been bashed for their recruitment policy since returning to the Premier League but perhaps it’s time for some respect to be placed on the club’s name.
Anthony Elanga swapped Manchester United for Forest in a quest to play regular first-team football and last season he achieved 14 goal contributions.
This season has been a bit of a slow burner but in recent weeks since the last international break, he’s claimed a couple of assists.
Forest stood firm on the winger in the summer when Newcastle tried to sign Elanga with just hours of the window remaining.
Many raised eyebrows when it was claimed that Forest wanted £50 million for the services of Elanga – but it now seems as though the club had every right.
A study from CIES Observatory who specialise in taking statistics and producing data believes Elanga to currently be worth between £34m and £49m to Forest.
Forest have decision to make over Elanga
The interest in Newcastle is unlikely to go away and it’s fair to say that selling Elanga would put a substantial amount of profit on the PSR spreadsheet.
However, the 22-year-old has bags of potential and he’s just getting started at Forest.
Elanga feels like a good character inside the dressing room and he always gives his all when he gets the nod to play in Espirito Santo’s team.
Forest don’t want to become that club that gets renowned for selling good quality players but given the club’s position in the food chain, every player will have a price.
If selling someone like Elanga allows Forest to keep hold of Morgan Gibbs-White and Murillo a little bit longer, then perhaps it will be a decision for the club to make in the near future.
