Nottingham Forest defeated Liverpool on Saturday in a performance that was built on a solid rearguard at Anfield.

The Reds won the game 1-0 courtesy of a goal from Callum Hudson-Odoi and Forest remain unbeaten from their four Premier League games so far.

Nuno Espirito Santo adopted a gameplan that worked down to the ground and he proved his critics wrong once and for all with this masterclass.

You could place many players into the mix for Man of the Match from the game on Saturday and you wouldn’t be disappointed with whoever was picked.

Forest now face Brighton at the weekend and the players have given the head coach a serious headache ahead of the trip south.

Ian Wright absolutely loves one Nottingham Forest star

The pundit was waxing lyrical about the Reds this week after Forest produced the performance of the day in the Premier League.

One player who is a seriously big fan of is Murillo – and it’s fair to say that he’s not the only one.

Forest fended interest for Murillo in the summer, with Inter Milan the latest club to be monitoring the performances of the centre-back.

Wright thought he was brilliant at the weekend and made a sizeable claim about the 22-year-old talent.

The ex-Forest loanee told Wrighty’s House podcast: “He’s getting to be one of my favourite players to watch, Murillo at the back for Forest. He’s so good, he’s so good on the ball, his passing out of defence is so good.”

Murillo will benefit from another season with Forest

It could have been easy for Forest to sell Murillo in the summer but ultimately nobody came forward with his valuation.

As a result, the player has remained at Forest and instead of kicking up a fuss, he’s been keen to start this season where he picked up last time around.

Murillo is an extremely talented player and given that Forest landed him for £10.6 million, they’re clearly going to make a profit on him.

At 22, the world really is his oyster. Top clubs have been linked with him and it will be fascinating to see where he does end up when the time comes to move on.

Had Murillo departed this summer he might have gone to a club that didn’t necessarily view him as a first choice and that would have stunted his progress.

At Forest, he will play regularly and with another year under his belt in the Premier League he should be able to command regular action when the time does come to leave.
