'I have called him': International manager not happy as Nottingham Forest star ignores his calls and texts

Nottingham Forest will soon see a number of their players head off on international duty for the third time this season.
In September, Morgan Gibbs-White made his first appearance for England and he will hope to get the nod once again.
One player definitely heading off to represent his country is Murillo, with the Brazilian called up for the first time in his young career.
Matz Sels missed the last Belgium squad through injury and he will hope that his form can get him on the pitch for his country in the coming weeks.
It’s great that Forest have so many players away on international duty but for one of the team’s star performers, this month’s international fixtures have provided a disappointment.
Anthony Elanga receives knockout blow from Sweden boss
It’s not been a great start to the 2024/25 campaign for Elanga at Forest.
As a young player, however, there will be peaks and troughs when it comes to his form and this season is has been a little sporadic.
Ironically since the last international break, the player has looked much more like his usual self but he’s not done enough to impress Sweden head coach Jon Dahl Tomasson.
After omitting him from the squad he shared why he chose Emil Forsberg instead.
He told Fotbollskanalen: “Players come in, players come out of the squad. Football is cruel. There is a lot of competition.
“Isak is back and Forsberg has done well for the New York Red Bulls, with goals and assists. It’s football. We needed to make a decision.”
Perhaps more intriguingly, the report suggests Elanga isn’t happy.
It’s believed that Tomasson has tried to contact the Forest star to explain his decision but Elanga has not answered his calls or texts.
Elanga must use this blow as motivation to kick on
Newcastle were thought to be interested in Elanga during the summer transfer window.
Forest demanded £50 million though and that left the Magpies frustrated in their efforts to sign the winger.
It’s probably a coincidence but Elanga’s form has stuttered a little bit this season.
As a young player, there will be blips for him to contend with but on Saturday against West Ham, he played his part in a very good victory.
Elanga will want to use this setback to his advantage in the coming weeks.
The 22-year-old must use the fortnight of rest to recover and be prepared to go again when domestic action resumes in a couple of weeks.
