Nottingham Forest are riding the crest of a wave at the moment as the Premier League stands up and takes notice.

Forest are placed third in the table after winning three and drawing one of the last four games.

The Reds thrashed West Ham 3-0 on Saturday to climb the division and excite the fan base into dusting off their passports ahead of a European adventure!

A number of players have shone this season and Shay Given has offered Chris Wood a new nickname after his eighth goal in 10 appearances.

Alan Shearer was impressed with Murillo and named him as part of his Team of the Week following the win over the Hammers.

There were a number of top performers at the weekend with several players currently producing the goods for the Reds.

Gabby Agbonlahor raves about Nottingham Forest star

Forest have a new star man in their ranks and he goes by the name of Ola Aina.

Callum Hudson-Odoi has claimed that it’s Aina geeing everyone up before games and he’s becoming a huge asset to the team.

Hudson-Odoi was in shock with Aina’s goal at the weekend and it was something that impressed Gabby Agbonlahor too.

He told TalkSPORT: “He was outstanding.

“Once again, he has been very good. I love watching him for Nigeria as well. He is always a threat going forward, so technically good on the ball as well.

“Another clean sheet for him, was very good defensively, but he has got that chemistry with the attack as well, the likes of Hudson-Odoi, Elanga, Morgan Gibbs-White and Wood, but to top a great performance, he said he was tired when he took the shot, but he didn't look it because that is what you call top bins.

“Outstanding goal. And not just for his goal but his all-round performance, he deserves to be in the Team of the Week.”

Forest have to give Aina a new contract

This situation is getting quite concerning now.

Forest only have Aina until the end of the current campaign and they simply can’t be letting the versatile full-back leave.

Bigger clubs have been sniffing around Aina and in January he will be able to pen a pre-contract with any club outside of England.

That makes the situation pretty perilous and it’s time that Forest acted on this quickly.

Forest have done a lot of good work in terms of recruitment over the last couple of transfer windows.

However, letting someone like Aina leave for free would undo some of that work and this situation cannot be allowed to go on for much longer.

Dear Mr Marinakis… Get the deal done!
