Nuno Espirito Santo has seen his squad at Forest added to considerably already this summer with five new additions signed.

The Reds narrowly avoided the drop last season after their points deduction due to their financial issues.

What Murillo said about his doubts after joining Nottingham Forest

It is a summer which has already seen Forest receive a lot of interest in some of their top players from other Premier League sides.

Anthony Elanga has seen interest arrive from Newcastle United who have been keen to land the Sweden international.

And Morgan Gibbs-White is a player who Forest have informed clubs like Tottenham Hotspur they’ll need to pay £40m to sign him.

Murillo is another player receiving strong interest and he has now commented on his initial concerns after joining Forest last summer.

Speaking to The Telegraph, Murillo has admitted that he was not entirely convinced he could prove his worth in the Premier League.

"It was a season where I learned a lot and at first I wasn't sure whether I would prove my value," he said.

"I always believed in my potential but was questioning myself. With a lot of work I managed to have a good season and, God willing, it will be even better this season.

"I still believe I can do better. As a team we also believe we will fight for a better position and have higher ambitions."

Top Premier League clubs interested in Murillo this summer

Some of the biggest clubs in the Premier League have been linked with a potential move for the Brazilian defender who impressed so much in his first season.

Two Premier League clubs were linked earlier in the window with interest in Murillo but the centre-back has been a regular in this summer’s pre-season.

Even Wolves have been linked with interest in Murillo in what would be one of the most outrageous signings of the summer if it were to happen.

But the Reds have set their valuation extremely high with Forest rating Murillo at a whopping £70m.
