Odysseas Vlachodimos had a night to forget against England, as he scored an own goal and conceded a further two in what was a wobbly display.

Nottingham Forest sold Odysseas Vlachodimos for £20 million in the summer, with Elliot Anderson coming the other way for around £35 million amid PSR issues.

The Greek goalkeeper only played seven times for Nottingham Forest and fell heavily out of favour, so to get £20 million for him is quite ludicrous.

Matz Sels has firmly established himself as the number one goalkeeper at the City Ground, and there’s back-up in the form of Carlos Miguel who joined in the summer.

His performance last night against England made it look an even better deal, as Nottingham Forest fans took to X to talk about their former player.

Odysseas Vlachodimos’ performance in numbers against England

Vlachodimos played the full 90 minutes for Greece. During this time he made three saves, two punches, had 40 touches, a passing accuracy of 90%, completed three long balls and made two clearances.

It was the own goal that was the subject of many fans on the night, despite it being rather unfortunate as the ball rebounded off the post and into the back of the goalkeeper.

This is almost of a repeat of one moment during Vlachodimos’ performance against England at Wembley in September, where he conceded a goal that really should have been saved.

Vlachodimos was slammed by Nottingham Forest fans for the error.
