Nottingham Forest told they have a player out on loan who is just like Nikola Milenkovic

Nottingham Forest signed a number of players in the summer transfer window with some for the here and now and others with the future in mind.
It was imperative the Reds sorted out the rearguard, with last season proving a shambolic mess at times defensively.
Nikola Milenkovic was the star central defensive signing, with Alex Moreno coming in to bring balance to the full-back areas.
One player who proved a bit of a surprise signing was Portuguese defender David Carmo with the defender immediately heading to Olympiacos on loan.
The player helped the Greek outfit win the Europa Conference League last season and Evangelos Marinakis did a deal that might benefit Forest in the long run.
Olympiacos expert delivers verdict on Nottingham Forest-owned David Carmo
We confess as Forest fans, we’ve not seen much of Carmo so we enlisted the help of Olympiacos supporter, Panagiotis Stam.
He gave us the lowdown on Carmo and first, we asked him how he’d started at Olympiacos on the back of last season’s hugely successful campaign.
Stam exclusively told Nottingham Forest News: “Olympiacos made a great effort to keep him this year and finally succeeded with the help of Nottingham Forest. The player missed the entire pre-season and only on August 31st he played for the first time in the red and white again.
“If we take stock of the first two months of Carmo back at Olympiacos, I think we have to agree that we expected better things from the centre-back.
“It’s not that he’s not been good, but he’s certainly not been as good as he was at the end of last season. He needs to figure out how to become a safe bet for the team’s defence again.”
Although his second spell with Olympiacos hasn’t quite started with red-hot form, there are clear strengths when it comes to his defensive game.
Stam continued: “He is a 6ft 5in left-footer, has a good long pass on him and is dominant in the aerial challenge.”
Carmo compared to current Nottingham Forest star
Finally, we asked Stam if there was a Forest player who he felt Carmo could be deemed similar to and he delivered an intriguing response.
He told us: “I’m no expert on Forest but he reminds me of Nikola Milenkovic. We face him in the European final against Fiorentina.
“Much like the Serbian, I see Carmo as a big-league player and if he rediscovers last season’s form he can play for Nottingham Forest. Stoppers of his size who aren’t slow are not easy to find.”
How much Nottingham Forest paid for David Carmo
Well, this deal already feels like a complete no-brainer.
Forest parted with just £10 million to sign the player from Porto, with Olympiacos likely to have paid a fee to take him on loan.
The Reds might lose Murillo next summer and with Carmo being left-sided, the club might already have signed his replacement.
These comments certainly sound positive from a Forest perspective.
The hope will be that Carmo can stay in the team this season and get himself back to the form he showcased last season when Olympiacos claimed a European title.
If he does that, he should arrive at Forest bang in form and brimming with confidence.
