'One of his worst games'… Nottingham Forest fans slam 36-touch star's display vs Crystal Palace

Nottingham Forest now move into eighth position in the Premier League, though it wasn’t all smiles as one player struggled to have an impact on the game.

Morgan Gibbs-White was the main absentee from the Crystal Palace game. He served his one-game suspension and was out with an injury.

Nuno Espirito Santo was also absent on the touchline, serving the first of his three matches in the stands after being found guilty by the FA.

However, Forest didn’t need either man as they found a way to grind out a result and keep another clean sheet, which helped keep the record as one of the best defences.

There was one player who struggled, and fans took to X to discuss his performance against Crystal Palace after the game.

Anthony Elanga’s performance against Crystal Palace

Anthony Elanga joined Nottingham Forest last summer from Manchester United.

He’s already attracted interest due to his performances in the red shirt, with Newcastle United making a late move to sign Elanga in the summer just gone.

The Swede has settled into life at the City Ground nicely, scoring five goals and assisting 10 in his 45 appearances.

His performance against Crystal Palace wasn’t one of his best. He played 63 minutes before being substituted after having 36 touches, a passing accuracy of 77%, making one key pass, two out of his seven crosses, failing every dribble, winning zero duels, and losing possession 16 times.

Nottingham Forest fans react to Anthony Elanga’s display

Many Nottingham Forest fans, when speaking on X, weren’t too pleased with Elanga’s display.

"Other than a few good set pieces Elanga was awful one of his worst games in a #NFFC shirt Jota Silva needs to start more as we looked a lot better team with him in.", @TheRedeemerAsh said.

@kylelocklin made the Brennan Johnson comparison: "Do people still genuinely believe Elanga is better than Johnson?"
