Nottingham Forest are flying up the Premier League table and claimed a third straight win on Saturday against West Ham.

Goals at the weekend came from Chris Wood, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Ola Aina as Forest roared to another win on home soil.

Forest face Newcastle next and it’s an exciting time to be a supporter of the football club it would seem.

Pundits are falling over themselves at the moment to deliver praise on Forest, with Robbie Earle claiming that he doesn’t think the team will go down now.

Jamie O’Hara recently praised Nuno Espirito Santo and it would seem as though he’s now getting the respect he deserves.

The Reds are going full steam ahead to try and perform netter this season and a more settled pre-season on the recruitment front looks to have been sensible.

Anchor makes claim about Nottingham Forest star Chris Wood

The Reds have something that is the envy of many other clubs in the Premier League – a striker in red-hot form who is now scoring for fun.

Wood took his tally to eight goals for the season from 10 appearances, with a well-taken header after good work from Alex Moreno.

Wood has been given a new nickname by Shay Given and now he’s been praised by American journalist and anchor, Luis Miguel Echegaray.

He told ESPN: “Forest are in third. Chris Wood is playing like a prime Gerd Muller. I know it’s early, but really, it’s not that early. Nuno’s done a remarkable job.”

Wood will become all-time leading Premier League goalscorer for Forest

It’s bad news for Bryan Roy as his record is going to go.

His 24 goals for Forest in the Premier League was an impressive feat but Wood looks set to blow that out of the water.

Wood has proved everyone wrong with his form at the City Ground and as Alan Shearer says, he’s in the form of his life.

The player is now second on the all-time goalscorer list for Premier League goals, ahead of the legendary Stan Collymore.

Now he wants to be Top of the Pops and being compared to the iconic Gerd Muller is perhaps a little tongue in cheek.

However, it shows that people aren’t belittling Wood’s qualities and he’s become one of the most feared marksmen in the Premier League.
