Nottingham Forest are bound to be dragged into intriguing transfer rumours given their impressive position in the Premier League table, and the first one has appeared.
We’re only halfway through the Premier League season, but it’s already looking like European football could be making a return to the City Ground.
Nottingham Forest have defied expectations to sit second in the table, and the best part is they’re showing no signs of slowing down.

Of course, things could all change but going off recent performances that doesn’t look likely, and it’s a Wolves reunion up next for Nuno Espirito Santo.
Wolves will head into this one without Matheus Cunha, which is great news for the Reds.
The transfer window is now officially here and Forest have already been suggested as an intriguing destination for a player, though it’s more tilted towards the summer.
Nottingham Forest tipped as a destination for Manchester United star Harry Maguire
Harry Maguire joined Manchester United for a record £80 million back in 2019.
However, he’s not been at his best over the past couple of years, constantly finding himself in and out of the side and lacking confidence at Old Trafford.
In an article from ESPN where they look at the futures of a number of players, they suggested Nottingham Forest as a potential destination for Harry Maguire.
He’s out of contract in the summer and it’s stated.
‘Nottingham Forest have the second-lowest possession rate in the league and one of the best defensive records. If they snag a spot in a European competition next season and want to spend a little money while leaning into their counterattacking identity, Maguire would be a particularly intriguing addition.’
Is a move for Maguire likely?
Well, it’s not very likely for two simple reasons.
One, his wage will be way too high. Nottingham Forest have prided themselves on buying cheap and not overpaying for wages, and that won’t change anytime soon.
Secondly, Maguire has shown very little in recent times at Manchester United and is no better than what they’ve already got. In fact, he’s currently worse.
