Nottingham Forest made it six successive victories in the Premier League last night with a 3-0 win over Wolves.
The form of the Reds has led to a number of people across the world of sport making positive comments about Forest.
Jamie Carragher raved about Morgan Gibbs-White after his opening goal was scored in front of new England boss Thomas Tuchel.
Chris Wood wowed Dean Ashton with his 13th goal of the campaign as he made it 2-0 under the Molineux floodlights.
Taiwo Awoniyi put the seal on the victory and the Nigerian looked buzzing to notch for the first time during the 2024/25 campaign.
It was a good night for Forest and the talk this morning has been around whether or not the Reds can do the unthinkable and win the Premier League title.
Stephen Bunting predicts whether Forest can win the Premier League title
It was a good night for Forest and a sound day for Bunting too as he earned a call-up to play in this year’s Premier League.
The 17-week competition will get underway in February and Bunting – the new world number five – will now be in the mix to win it.
As a devoted Liverpool fan, Bunting was quizzed on TalkSPORT this morning over whether or not Forest can win the Premier League this season.
He said live on air: “I don’t think they’re in title contention but they’re definitely in the mix for the top four. I watched the game last night and they played quite well to be fair.
“Morgan Gibbs-White is their captain and he’s having a fantastic season for them. But no, I think the title race is a bridge too far for them to be honest.”
Forest can dream of European football
Bunting is right, the title does feel a bridge too far, however, European football is very much a possibility.
With Liverpool to play next, Forest can further flex their credentials but continuing this run of form all season does feel ambitious.
The Reds are blessed with a squad brimming with competition but a couple of injuries to key players and things could go awry.
Right now, from a fan perspective, it’s nice to have played over half a season and still be looking upwards rather than over our shoulders.
The title is likely to be a bridge too far for Forest but there is absolutely no reason why this can’t still be a truly memorable season for the football club.
