Nottingham Forest produced a superb display of finishing to beat West Ham United on Saturday in the Premier League.

The Reds are up to third in the Premier League table and face Newcastle on Sunday at the City Ground.

Should Forest claim another three points at the weekend, it will be 22 points from 11 games and give Forest the two-point average that normally leads to titles. This really is dizzy heights.

There is still work to do though even if the start to 2024/25 has been pretty spectacular, to say the least.

Shay Given gave Chris Wood a new nickname at the weekend and he’s now bagged eight goals in 10 appearances this season.

Alan Shearer praised Ola Aina for his efforts and his goal really caught the eye as he rounded off the scoring with a long-range effort.

It was a richly deserved goal for Aina who has worked tirelessly this season – and even his teammates couldn’t quite believe their eyes…

What Eric da Silva Moreira did when Ola Aina scored for Forest

It was a day to remember for the German defender who made his Premier League debut.

Moreira had been on the bench in the early stages of the season and found himself among the substitutes again at the weekend.

With the game wrapped up, Nuno Espirito Santo asked Rui Pedro Silva to get Moreira on for the closing stages and his first Premier League outing.

In recent weeks the official media team have done a re-run of Bench Cam and it does capture some great footage.

When Aina scored, Moreira’s reaction was class and speaks volumes about Aina and how many goals he doesn’t normally manage.

As the defender headed off in celebration, Moreira simply stood in the technical area with his hands on his head in disbelief.

Aina would be superb role model for Moreira

At 19, the German youth international is definitely one for the future.

However, if Forest keep finishing teams off in this fashion there is absolutely no reason why he can’t get a few more minutes.

Moreira will find his feet in England and when he played in the Carabao Cup against Newcastle he didn’t look out of place.

What the youngster needs is players to look up to and Aina can definitely take him under his wing.

The Nigerian has been amazing since signing on a free transfer and it’s imperative that Forest can get him tied down to a new deal.

At 27, there could come a time at Forest when Aina and Moreira are the full-backs tearing down the wing for Forest.
