Arsenal supporters have sent a clear message to Mikel Arteta about Kieran Tierney after how he got on against Dinamo Zagreb in the Champions League.
The Gunners have all but booked their place in the Champions League round of 16 with a 3-0 win over the Croatian team as goals from Declan Rice, Kai Havertz and Martin Odegaard secured the three points.
Tierney was made to wait for his chance to play as Oleksandr Zinchenko started at left-back and the Scot was eventually introduced in the 74th minute.
Tierney has decided to join Celtic this month but the North London club’s fans have had their say on that after his cameo against Zagreb.
Arsenal fans laud Kieran Tierney’s display vs Dinamo Zagreb
Arsenal fans have praised the display of Kieran Tierney versus Dinamo Zagreb as the defender produced a strong showing in the Champions League.
Mikel Arteta doesn’t typically use traditional full-backs as he looks to control games by having imposing players in each area of the pitch.
But at the Emirates, the Scottish international showed the Arsenal boss the importance of having full-backs who know how to overlap and offer more going forward.
The Spanish coach ought to consider keeping the 27-year-old for at least another season for depth and to give the team a different dimension.
After the match, Arsenal fans took to X to share their appreciation for Tierney’s cameo in the 3-0 victory.
One fan said: “I really don’t see why Tierney should be sold, he totally deserves to play for this football club and possesses some qualities we do not have in other options, brilliant lad.
“Highly doubt it will happen but we can't be the only ones who would love to see Kieran Tierney stay at the club,” added another fan.
There was yet more praise for Tierney: “I have really missed watching Kieran Tierney. Injuries denied us the club legend he would've become.
“Tierney overlapping comes off natural for him, that’s a couple of amazing crosses in short stints off the bench. Natural centre-backs at full-back don’t see these angles the same way,” claimed another.
