Brighton & Hove Albion will host Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League on Sunday.

Fabian Hürzeler, will be without Jan Paul van Hecke for the clash against Tottenham. That’s according to Voetbal International, who state the defender will be forced to miss the Tottenham tie due to an injury.

The centre-back has made five league starts this season and missed Brighton’s 4-2 defeat against Chelsea last weekend. He’s been complaining about a groin injury for a while, and it started to cause more problems in recent days.

On Monday, the Netherlands international underwent tests and the results determined he will be out of action for the next few weeks. This will force him to miss the clash against Tottenham and October’s international break.

Oranje manager Ronald Koeman has included him in his pre-selection list. The latest blow means Van Hecke is ruled out for the Netherlands fixtures against Hungary and Germany this month.

Internally, Brighton ‘feared’ the 24-year-old will be out for a ‘long time’. VI state the test results have shown his setback isn’t as serious as initially feared.

Van Hecke will miss the weekend clash against Tottenham and the two matches for the national team. This is a ‘big disappointment’ for the player. The report states he should be available after the international break, to face Newcastle United on October 19th.
