Chelsea stars react after Robert Sanchez issues 'very difficult' admission
Yesterday at 01:31 PM
Robert Sanchez has admitted his frustration at Chelsea taking just a point from their goalless draw with Everton.
It has been a tough season for the Blues goalkeeper, who has made come under scrutiny after being caught out on occasions.
Indeed a number of the club’s fans have even speculated that the 27-year-old could leave Stamford Bridge before the start of next season.
Sanchez though did impress during Sunday’s (22 December) stalemate with Everton, and although Chelsea were denied a first half penalty they still needed some big saves from the Spanish international.
Even so, the goalkeeper still felt his side deserved to take more from the game. Posting on Instagram after the match, Sanchez wrote:
“Very difficult place to go to, a clean sheet but only [one point] when we wanted more. Two more games to end 2024 strongly! Let's go together chels”.
That post was then liked by a number of his fellow Chelsea teammates including Tosin Adarabioyo, Marc Cucurella, Nicolas Jackson, Reece James and Axel Disasi.

There have been plenty of questions recently about whether or not Sanchez can be first choice between the posts for Enzo Maresca’s side if they are to compete for trophies in the future.
The Chelsea man’s performance against Everton on Sunday may offer some hope for the Spaniard that he can prove the doubters wrong after helping his side pick up that point.
Of course, he will need to do it on a more consistent basis and against more attacking teams who will work him and his defence more.
Even so, this could still be a foundation for Sanchez to build on as he looks to dispel any suggestions he may need to be replaced at Stamford Bridge, with Enzo Maresca so far unmoved by fan frustration.
Indeed the form he showed at Brighton to convince Chelsea to buy him proved he is a very capable goalkeeper at Premier League level.
He clearly still has the backing of his teammates as well, so it will be intriguing to see if he can maintain this level, especially with the excellent displays of Filip Jorgensen in the cups putting some pressure on.
In other news, a senior Chelsea player is closing in on a January transfer.
