Napoli are going 'full force' for Aston Villa striker Jhon Duran but even a €40m bid has not proven to be enough for him.

That's according to Il Mattino, who say the Italian side want to 'play ahead of the game' and it is intermediaries who are now pushing the transfer along.

Reports over the last week have made it clear Napoli are in love with Duran and want to sign him from Aston Villa sooner rather than later.

He is seen as an ideal addition to Antonio Conte's squad and a report yesterday made it clear that a first offer of €35m had been rejected.

That same report indicated a €40m bid would follow quickly and Il Mattio say that has now happened after intermediaries 'offered a preferential lane' to the Aston Villa striker.

However, '€40m are not enough' according to the newspaper as Aston Villa seek more for their rising star. Napoli can't afford to offer more before they're certain Victor Osimhen will be sold.

HE's currently on loan at Galatasaray after failing to get his move in the summer but the Turkish now 'smells something fishy' in regard to the Nigerian. In other words, they think he'll be sold in January. In fact, they're growing convinced of that and have tried to anticipate him departing by moving to sign Paulo Dybala from Roma.

It's a big, complicated transfer ball that is slowly unravelling itself but with intermediaries at work, Aston Villa fans should expect plenty more about Duran leaving in the coming weeks.
