David Seaman agrees with Liverpool winning Premier League title and Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City in top four
Seaman, speaking on the Seaman Says podcast, said he hopes Arsenal – the club where he played for most of his career – would win the title.
However, he admitted that, if he was going to bet on the winner, he would do so on Liverpool.
Seaman also agreed with Faye Carruthers’ prediction of Liverpool top, Arsenal second, Chelsea third and Manchester City fourth.
“I’m saying Arsenal, with obviously half my blood’s Red,” said Seaman. “If I was betting, you’d put it on Liverpool!”
Later on, Carruthers predicted a top four of Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea and Man City in that order, to which Seaman said: “I agree”.
First Premier League fixtures of 2025
Arsenal will be the first Premier League title contender to play in 2025 as they head to Brentford in a 5:30pm GMT kick-off on Wednesday 1 January.
That will bring Arsenal and Brentford in line with most other teams in the division on 19 games played, with only Liverpool and Everton then having a game in hand due to the rescheduled Merseyside derby.
Matchweek 20 then begins on Saturday 4 January, with Tottenham up against Newcastle, Man City hosting West Ham, Chelsea heading to Crystal Palace and Arsenal heading to Brighton.
Liverpool and Man United then lock horns at Anfield on Sunday 5 January, and Forest wrap up the matchweek with Monday night’s trip to Wolves.
With the January transfer window also opening, the Premier League’s biggest clubs could also be vying for different players.
For instance, Lille’s Ayyoub Bouaddi is wanted by Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester City, plus the likes of Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Juventus.
