Exclusive: How Arsenal feel about cancelling Raheem Sterling's loan in January after injury blow

TBR Football can exclusively reveal that Arsenal have made their message very clear in regards to whether they would consider cancelling Raheem Sterling's loan from Chelsea next month.
Mikel Arteta recently confirmed that Sterling, along with Bukayo Saka, has suffered an injury set-back that will see the forward missing for a number of weeks at Arsenal.
Arsenal will therefore only have Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard available as the club's senior wingers.
In turn, that has prompted the question as to whether Arsenal would consider cancelling Sterling's loan next month, who also hasn't played a ton of minutes at the Emirates Stadium.
However, Arsenal sources have told TBR that Arsenal have no intention of cancelling Sterling's loan as things stand.
Raheem Sterling staying at Arsenal but Leandro Trossard exit talk returns
Complicating Arsenal's situation in attack further, TBR Football’s chief correspondent Graeme Bailey understands that the Saudi Pro League have now resurrected their interest in Leandro Trossard.
Arsenal have recently been working to extend Trossard's deal, but the club do have interest in adding another winger in 2025.
West Ham's Mohammed Kudus is emerging as a player of major interest to the Gunners heading into the new year.
In addition, West Ham could be willing to sell Kudus – a situation Arsenal are watching closely.
However, in terms of Trossard leaving next month, Saka's injury, which is said to be more serious than Sterling's, could very well limit the club's willingness to sell the Belgium international.
Sterling determined to succeed at Arsenal
Of course, with Sterling likely to see out the season at Arsenal, and perhaps receive more opportunities once he's back fit, his words when he first joined the club are particularly pertinent.
Although it hasn't worked out as such so far, Sterling was confident in regards to the impact he could have at the Emirates, potential he'll soon be looking to fulfil.
Speaking back in an interview back in September, Sterling said: "It's an unbelievable feeling, really exciting, I'm buzzing. It's one (the move) where it was kind of left to late, but again it was one that I was hoping for.
"I think looking at everything, I'm just like this is the perfect fit for me – I'm sure happy that we got it over the line.
"Spoke with Edu and I think just, and I said, it's just something you can see from the outside, you can see the real togetherness from Mikel's time here, you can see the journey that the boys are on and the hunger, and I keep saying again, the togetherness, and it's something I'm looking to be a part of.
"Really excited [for the next step in my career], there's always challenges, this is another challenge and it's one that I'm relishing to go and really go out there and do my thing."
