Han Willhoft-King is closing in on joining another Premier League side following his departure from Tottenham Hotspur earlier in the summer transfer window.

Of course, Spurs fans have plenty of reason to be excited with the news on Tuesday that they have signed the most exciting youngster in the Championship, with Archie Gray joining from Leeds United.

Gray spent the majority of last season playing at right-back, but his arrival adds to Tottenham’s options in the middle of the park with the 18-year-old’s future surely lying in central midfield.

And with that, one youngster may perhaps feel content with the fact that he has recently left the club as his path towards Ange Postecoglou’s first-team would have become even more congested.

Han Willhoft-King was a stalwart of Spurs’ under-18 squad during the second-half of last season, mostly playing in central midfield, but also filling in at right-back in the 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace.

The 18-year-old left Tottenham Hotspur Stadium after the campaign, and Fabrizio Romano has now reported on X that he is closing in on joining Manchester City on a two-year deal.

Romano confirmed that he is set to undergo a medical with the champions…

Spurs fans likely to be intrigued by midfielder’s move

Some Tottenham fans may have one eye on how Willhoft-King’s career develops, particularly as Postecoglou has been willing to turn to his younger players, with 16-year-old Mikey Moore appearing late on in the season.

He had not played for the under-21s, but it says a lot that he is set to sign for Manchester City after leaving Spurs. While he is unlikely to be pushing himself onto Pep Guardiola’s radar anytime soon, he may be a player everyone hears plenty about in the years to come.

Tottenham will probably not care a great deal however, if Gray goes on to realise anything like his full potential during his time with the club.
