Cole Palmer made Premier League history on Saturday as the Chelsea star became the first player ever in the division to score four goals in a single half.

The England international continued his incredible goalscoring form with the Blues against Brighton & Hove Albion as the former Manchester City prospect scored all four goals for Chelsea in their 4-2 win against the Seagulls.

With Gary Neville comparing Palmer to Mohamed Salah, a real argument could be made that the 22-year-old attacker could be the current best player in the Premier League alongside the likes of Erling Haaland, the aforementioned Liverpool star and Bukayo Saka.

And Leicester City defender Conor Coady believes one figure at Chelsea could make Palmer even better.

Enzo Maresca tipped to make Palmer better at Chelsea

Speaking on the Monday Night Club, the England international noted how Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca could soon find a settled position for Palmer that could get the best out of the Premier League star.

Having played attacking midfield and right-wing this season, it’s clear that Maresca is yet to find Palmer’s ideal position despite some incredible performances across the board for the Blues, and the Italian manager could have a mission on his hands in the coming weeks.

Coady said on how Maresca can make Palmer better at Chelsea: "He is a free spirit, Cole Palmer, of course, the way he plays and everything, but what I think Enzo will do is make him kind of play in position.

“He will have a position that will be his position, but he will get the best out of him in that position because he will know how good Cole Palmer is. I think he will make him better."

Palmer finding his best position could take some tinkering

Palmer’s role at Chelsea is as fluid as they come, with the 22-year-old given the keys to do what he wishes with goals and assists coming out naturally from the England international at Stamford Bridge.

Yet in the words of Coady, Maresca finding Palmer’s best position could be huge in the Chelsea talisman discovering his true role on the pitch, and performances could improve as a result of such a revelation.

Indeed, Palmer is well on his way to becoming one of the modern-day greats at Chelsea, and finding his best position could go a long way in cementing his legacy with the Blues for years to come.
