Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe can expect an honest discussion with one of his players over the coming weeks when it comes to his future on Tyneside.

An exhausting month of PSR concerns has finally come to an end for Newcastle with Howe‘s side hopeful of balancing their books.

Elliot Anderson and Yankuba Minteh were sold just before the end of the month deadline for considerable profits which should see the Toon avoid any penalties.

Any concerns of losing a big ticket player like Anthony Gordon or Alexander Isak may also have been put to bed for the summer.

However, Newcastle could still end up selling further players this summer with one of them already saying he is keen to discuss his future with the manager when he returns to the north east.

£4m Newcastle ready for transfer meeting with Eddie Howe

Although Newcastle were in desperate need of selling some of their players before the end of June, it did not stop them from bringing in some new faces.

By no means were they big money signings, but Newcastle added two new goalkeepers to their squad in the form of John Ruddy and Odysseas Vlachodimos.

The Toon have beefed up their options between the sticks following a season which saw Nick Pope miss a lot of game time due to a severe shoulder injury.

But this has placed Martin Dubravka‘s future at St James’ Park under serious doubt.

Speaking to Craig Hope, Dubravka has admitted he is unsure where his future lies this summer and is keen to speak to Howe.

“I have no idea. I have seen they are talking with other goalkeepers,” Dubravka said.

“I need to speak with the manager first. What is the plan for me? What is my future? I don't know if they want me to stay or not. It is difficult for me, because I have been focussed on my job with the national team.”

Who could sign Martin Dubravka this summer?

Perhaps the biggest club linked with a potential move for the Slovakian goalkeeper is Celtic who are in need of replacing Joe Hart.

This is a player who did play a considerable role on Tyneside last season due to Pope’s injury, but his opportunities are seemingly slipping with the addition of two further goalkeepers.

Having signed for just £4m back in 2018, it would be fair to say they have certainly got their money’s worth out of the shotstopper.

But at the age of 35, Dubravka could now land himself a considerable move to one of the biggest clubs in the United Kingdom with a move to Celtic which surely would appeal to the ageing goalkeeper.
