Ibrox Exclusive: Rangers and Aberdeen in race to sign Luton Town star

Rangers, Aberdeen, Hearts and Hibernian are eyeing moves for Luton Town’s Scottish midfielder Allan Campbell, sources have told Football Insider.
Campbell, who is currently on loan at Charlton, is understood to be interested in a move back to Scotland this month and that news has alerted the Scottish Premiership quartet.
The 26-year-old became a firm favourite with Luton fans with his all-action displays after moving south of the border from Motherwell in July 2021.
However, one-cap Scotland international Campbell has spent the last 18 months out on loan at Millwall and Charlton.
The player could be tempted to leave Luton for a return to his native Scotland on a permanent basis this month.
He has made 16 appearances across all competitions for Nathan Jones’ Addicks side this term, notching one assist.
Those outings have seen Campbell rack up just nine starts and 836 minutes of action in the 2024-25 campaign.
Rangers, Aberdeen, Hearts and Hibs target Campbell for Scotland return
Campbell, who was born in Glasgow, racked up 16 goals and nine assists in 160 Motherwell appearances before joining Luton.
He played 86 times for the Hatters – mostly in the Championship – but has dropped into League One with Charlton.
Rangers sit second in the Scottish Premiership and could offer Campbell European football this term, while Aberdeen are fourth after a drop-off from their early-season form.
Edinburgh rivals Hibs and Hearts sit sixth and 11th respectively in Scotland’s top tier.
