Man City defender Kyle Walker has taken to social media to send a message to the fans, admitting “the last few months haven't been up to the standard we set.”
The 34-year-old came off the bench for the last 20 minutes as Man City secured a much-needed 2-0 Premier League win over Leicester in their last game of 2024.
City’s win on Sunday (December 29) saw them temporarily climb up to fifth before falling back into sixth after Newcastle’s 2-0 win over Ruben Amorim’s struggling Man United side the next day.
The current champions have endured their worst run of form since the Spaniard took back in 2016 winning two, drawing three, and losing eight of their last 13 games across all competitions.

The right-back has been in and out of the side this season, starting 11 of his 17 games across all competitions, failing to make a goal contribution in his 1130 minutes of action.
Walker has seen his relationship with the fans fracture over the second half of 2024, recently calling out supporters for sending him racist messages.
Hoping to move on, Walker took to Instagram to send a message to the fans, saying: “As the year comes to an end I would just like to say Happy New Year, it's been a great year winning the incredible four in a row.
“We know the last few months haven't been up to the standard we set, however, we know we have set the bar so high over the last number of years and we have fallen short but something I have to say is the support over the last few months has been touching and shows what this club is truly about.
“Through the ups and downs we are one. We will fight till the end as we have always done. But football aside it's about the people in your life that really matter and I wish them nothing but health and happiness in 2025.”
