Fulham’s Raul Jimenez wasn’t part of Mexico’s squad for the Copa America earlier this year and he last played for the country about 11 months ago.

While that somewhat helps Fulham because of how he can focus on club duties, the striker could again become an important part of the Mexico side soon enough.

As per La Opinion, Jimenez will return to the national team’s fold soon and 'letters have already been sent' to Fulham to notify them them the player will be called up, with Meixcan club AVS also told veteran Guillermo Ochoa is set to return to El Tri.

The expectation is that in the next few days, Jimenez’s return to the Mexico side will be made official. Manager Javier Aguirre will have the striker in the squad for their upcoming games against Valencia and the US.

Feyenoord's Santiago Gimenez, who is a vital part of the Mexico side, will miss out with injury but that’s now the only reason the Fulham player is returning.

The 33-year-old has impressed in the Premier League this season, scoring three times. Those goals have come in the last three games and Jimenez is Mexico’s in-form striker.
