The January transfer window is open, and there's bound to be movement at Arsenal this month.

Arsenal need a striker, and they are looking at options.

Dusan Vlahovic has been linked to Arsenal recently, so that is a potential move to keep an eye on, while Jonathan David is an Arsenal target too.

It's not just incomings that could happen at Arsenal this month though, Arsenal could also end up selling players.

Indeed, Jakub Kiwior has been linked with an Arsenal exit this month, while speaking on the Sky Sports Transfer Talk Podcast, Dharmesh Sheth has been discussing the chances of Oleksandr Zinchenko leaving Arsenal.

Oleksandr Zinchenko could leave Arsenal

Sheth shared what he knows about Zinchenko and a potential move this month.

The journalist says that Arsenal don't want to sell players this month, but if an offer did come in for Zinchenko they would assess it.

Ultimately, the journalist said that this is a situation to keep an eye on.

"This is an interesting one. Hasn’t really featured. He’s only started two Premier League games for Arsenal so far this season. I wouldn’t be surprised if the left back area is another area that Arsenal will look into because Kieran Tierney as well looks like he will be on his way out," Sheth said.

"They’re not going to exercise the one year option in his contract. Zinchenko, Borussia Dortmund are interested. Arsenal don’t actually want, in an ideal scenario, any outgoings in this transfer window unless they can bring players in. They don’t want to be left short. So it’s squad size as well as the quality as well.

"But Zinchenko is into the final 18 months of his contract. Now if a good offer was to come in, I’m told that Arsenal would look at it and then make a decision on Zinchenko.

"So I think that is definitely one to watch in this window, particularly because Arsenal will be well aware that they’ve got a situation with Tierney where he’s, unless he goes on loan, they’re not going to make any money on him."

Oleksandr Zinchenko stats this season

Borussia Dortmund are keen on Zinchenko, and it would be hard to blame the player if he decided he did want to leave Arsenal this month.

Indeed, Zinchenko is barely getting a game for Arsenal these days, and the numbers show just how far he's fallen down the pecking order at the Emirates.

The reality is that Zinchenko is no longer a key player for Arsenal.

Zinchenko earned tons of praise during his first season at Arsenal after his £35m move, but, since then, he's become less and less of a key cog in Mikel Arteta's plans.

Arsenal now have numerous left-back options who would start ahead of Zinchenko.

Riccardo Calafiori
Jurrien Timber
Myles Lewis-Skelly
Oleksandr Zinchenko
Kieran Tierney

Riccardo Calafiori and Jurrien Timber are road blocks for Zinchenko, but Myles Lewis-Skelly's emergence may be the final nail in the Ukrainian's coffin at Arsenal.

Lewis-Skelly has earned huge plaudits since breaking into the first-team, and the teenager's emergence may well force Zinchenko into making a big decision about his future in north London.
