Report: Arsenal now want to sign £75m Premier League striker who's even faster than Bukayo Saka

Arsenal didn't sign a new striker this summer, despite tons of links to new centre-forwards.

Alexander Isak was linked to Arsenal, while Mikel Arteta did try to sign Benjamin Sesko at one point, but, in the end, the north London club decided to stick rather than twist in the attack.

However, now, Arsenal may want to revisit the striking market in the near future.

Arsenal have lost a bit of ground in the title race as of late, and with teams such as Tottenham and Chelsea outscoring them this season, some more firepower may be needed.

Luckily, the transfer window is just around the corner, and Arsenal are apparently interested in one of the Premier League's hottest strikers.

Arsenal interested in Jhon Duran

According to the Colombian edition of AS, Arsenal are interested in signing Jhon Duran from Aston Villa.

Villa apparently value the striker at €90m (£75m), so this wouldn't be a cheap deal to do.

However, there's reason to believe that Duran would be worth it.

The striker has been in red hot form this season despite the fact he's rarely started games for Villa ahead of Ollie Watkins.

Duran has already scored six goals in all competitions this season, and at the age of just 20, this is a player with bags of potential.

Interestingly, Duran has clocked a higher top speed than Bukayo Saka this season, via UEFA so he'd add even more pace to what is already a quick Arsenal frontline.

Duran has just signed a new Aston Villa contract

Arsenal may be keen on Duran, but it's hard to see this deal being done anytime soon.

Duran has only just signed a new contract with Aston Villa, and while there were lots of rumours about the striker's future in the summer, he now seems set to stay in the Midlands.

Barcelona are also said to be keen on Duran, but, as crazy as this would've sounded a few years ago, Villa are now in a position where they can bat away teams like Barcelona as they pursue their own European ambitions.

Villa are up there with the best teams in Europe these days, and if they want to push on and become title contenders and Champions League hopefuls, they need to keep hold of players like Duran, especially just weeks after he signed a new contract.

Arsenal do need a new striker at some point, but they may have to look elsewhere if they're going to find an attainable striker target.
