Revealed: Tierney's stance on Celtic return as Arsenal make decision

Arsenal defender Kieran Tierney would be interested in a return to boyhood club Celtic, sources have told Football Insider.
The Gunners have chosen not to activate the one-year extension clause in the 27-year-old’s contract, which is currently set to end next June.
He will therefore be free to strike a pre-contract agreement with foreign clubs from 1 January.
Celtic have long been linked with a move for Tierney, who left Parkhead for Arsenal in a reported £25million move in 2019.
Brendan Rodgers, who managed the left-back during his previous spell with the Hoops, is a big admirer of the Scotland international’s talents.
Tierney has recently made his comeback from a hamstring injury sustained at the European Championships with Scotland.
Tierney keen on Celtic return – negotiations can open on 1 January
He started in the 3-2 League Cup win over Crystal Palace last week (18 December) and played 69 minutes before being substituted.
The defender has been on the bench on seven other occasions in recent weeks without seeing the pitch.
Tierney played 170 times for Celtic between 2015 and 2019 before becoming the club’s record sale.
The left-back was born on the Isle of Man but joined the Hoops as a seven year old before progressing through the club’s academy.
He spent the 2023-24 campaign on loan with Real Sociedad but made only 26 appearances for the Basque outfit in an injury-affected season.
