Brentford are not considering losing star man Yoane Wissa before the 3 February transfer deadline, sources have told Football Insider.

The Bees turned down a £22million offer from Nottingham Forest for the 28-year-old forward last week.

Forest are just one of the Premier League sides keen on landing Wissa, with title challengers Arsenal also monitoring his situation.

Brentford are set to hold firm with their stance in this window but the situation could be revisited in the off-season.

Wissa will have just 12 months left to run on his Bees contract at the end of the 2024-25 campaign.

Even then, it is believed the DR Congo international will command a fee well in excess of £30million.

The France-born star has starred for Brentford alongside teammate Bryan Mbuemo this term, with both forwards helping plug the gap left by departed striker Ivan Toney.

Wissa has scored 12 goals and notched two assists in 24 appearances across all competitions this season – with 20 of those outings coming as part of the starting lineup.

Brentford block January exit for Wissa – but he could go for £30m this summer

He started his career in England as a left winger but has played as a centre-forward following Toney’s exit.

The 28-year-old joined Brentford from French side Lorient in 2021 and signed his most recent contract extension two years later.

Thomas Frank’s side sit 11th in the Premier League after beating Crystal Palace 2-1 on Sunday (26 January).

The Bees are next in action against Tottenham this weekend (2 February).
