Sources: West Ham were just offered chance to sign £11.6m striker compared to Jamie Vardy but never responded

West Ham are still yet to sign a new striker – roughly halfway into the January transfer window.
Graham Potter needs at least one attacking reinforcement at the London Stadium before the February 3rd transfer deadline after losing both Michail Antonio and Niclas Fullkrug to serious injuries – as well as Jarrod Bowen.
TBR Football understand West Ham are monitoring Marcus Rashford – who Manchester United are looking to offload this winter – while the likes of Taiwo Awoniyi and Rodrigo Muniz have also been linked.
Unsurprisingly – given their need for a striker – West Ham have been offered Mergim Berisha by intermediaries, although TBR Football understand the Hammers never responded.
West Ham ignored chance to sign Mergim Berisha
Graeme Bailey – Chief Correspondent at TBR Football – has now been told how West Ham reacted after the Germany international was proposed to them.
It is understood the east Londoners never actually responded at all when Berisha was offered by a third party – with those at the London Stadium unwilling to sign the TSG Hoffenheim No.10 this month.
The 26-year-old boasts decent pedigree, having won two caps for Germany while earning an £11.6m move to TSG Hoffenheim in August 2023 after impressing at Augsburg.
FBREF even likened Berisha to Jamie Vardy and Dominic Solanke when asked to find strikers similar to the German – although West Ham were disinterested nonetheless.
West Ham are interested in Andre Silva
While Berisha did not move West Ham, the Irons are admirers of another Bundesliga striker.
TBR Football understand West Ham like Andre Silva of RB Leipzig – and have enquired about the Portugal international.
Elye Wahi of RC Lens is also being considered by West Ham.
In total, West Ham have expressed interest in Emmanuel Latte Lath, Igor Jesus, Yuri Alberto, Hwang Hee-chan, Stefanos Tzimas, Evan Ferguson and Jhon Duran along with the aforementioned names, so there are clearly a number of strikers on their radar.
