Arsenal had a very busy summer transfer window this time around.

The Gunners made numerous major signings to bolster their squad ahead of this season's title charge.

Riccardo Calafiori arrived from Bologna, Mikel Merino joined from Real Sociedad, while Raheem Sterling signed on loan in a last-minute deadline day deal from Chelsea.

All in all, it was a job well done for Arsenal in the last summer transfer window, but there's still a feeling that one key position hasn't been addressed.

Indeed, Arsenal still haven't signed a new striker despite a two-year long search for a new centre-forward.

However, it wasn't for a lack of trying, Benjamin Sesko was a key target in the summer, but, ultimately, the £55m man decided to stay at RB Leipzig.

Writing in his column on The Daily Briefing, Charles Watts has been discussing Sesko's situation, and he says that this deal could indeed be revisited in the future as Arsenal have done plenty of groundwork on this front.

Arsenal could revisit Benjamin Sesko deal

Watts shared what he knows about Sesko and made a prediction for next summer.

"I'm keeping a keen eye on Sesko this season as I still think there is a chance that Arsenal will revisit their interest in the Slovenia international at some point, maybe even next summer," Watts wrote.

"Obviously they were very keen to bring him in during the last transfer window, but the 21-year-old decided to stay and sign a new contract with Leipzig.

"That decision was a disappointment to Arsenal, but I don't believe it was a decision that burned any bridges between the club and the striker in terms of a move in the future.

"A lot of the groundwork was done before the summer window and I don't believe there has been any sort of breakdown in relationship behind the scenes just because Sesko opted to stay put."

Why did Benjamin Sesko reject Arsenal?

Sesko had the chance to join Arsenal this summer, but he decided to stay with RB Leipzig.

At the time, that decision seemed strange, but Sesko has since explained why he rejected the Gunners.

Sesko rejected Arsenal because he wanted more time to develop and gain experience before making the big jump to an elite club.

"I thought it through very well. I believe I made the right decision. I wanted to gain more experience, learn more, and not rush things," Sesko said.

"Leipzig is an excellent club that can provide what I need for the next step. Leipzig's vision is clear; everything is geared towards growth, progress, and high goals. I felt it was right to decide this way."

Sesko has started this season in decidedly average fashion, scoring just two goals in six Bundesliga appearances so far this season, and while Arsenal are still credited with an interest, that interest may wane if the striker doesn't kick on soon.
