Tottenham Hotspur have made quite a name for themselves in recent years when it comes to turning exciting prospects into stars.

The likes of Pape Matar Sarr, Destiny Udogie arrived at Spurs as relative unknowns on these shores and have become established Premier League players.

More recently, the likes of Lucas Bergvall and Archie Gray have shown huge potential at Tottenham and could be next in line.

That said, nothing captures the fan’s imagination quite like a homegrown academy talent making his breakthrough and becoming a star.

Spurs fans had that with Harry Kane, while the likes of Oliver Skipp and Harry Winks also did well and are now still in the Premier League, albeit with another team.

Now, there’s a new kid on the block who looks like he could be the next Tottenham academy graduate to become the club’s new star.

Glenn Hoddle says Tottenham fans will be raving about Mikey Moore

The player in question is Mikey Moore, whose upward trajectory has been nothing short of superb.

On Thursday, he starred in the Europa League win over AZ, constantly tormenting the opposition defence.

Tottenham legend Glenn Hoddle has now shared his thoughts on Moore, in conversation with TNT Sports.

Hoddle believes Spurs fans will now be talking about Moore “in the pubs and the bars”, and will really get behind him as he continues to prosper at N17.

He said, via BBC Sport: “Every club, they love a homegrown, don’t they?

“They love to see someone come through the ranks, make it into the first team and [the fans] will get behind him, week in and week out.

“They’ll be talking about him in the pubs and the bars now. It will be about Mikey Moore.”

Moore penned Tottenham contract amid interest from other clubs

Goal.com previously reported that the likes of Manchester City, Manchester United, Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund were keen on Moore.

Instead, Moore opted to sign his first professional contract at Tottenham, as per the Evening Standard.

That proved to be an inspired decision, as he is already showing his class at such a young age, and he truly looks like he’s got a huge future ahead of him.

What next for Tottenham?

Ange Postecoglou’s charges are next in action on Sunday when they head to Crystal Palace for a 2pm kick-off in the Premier League.
