Arsenal’s recruitment in recent years has been very good.

Yes, the Gunners have come under criticism for not signing a new striker or winger, but most of their signings over the last few years have improved them.

Arsenal are hoping to continue that trend – not just with the signings of established senior stars but also talented young players from across the globe.

One such player is Sverre Nypan, and David Ornstein has shared an update on him.

David Ornstein says Sverre Nypan is ‘very keen’ to join Arsenal

Nypan is one of the most talented young players in Europe.

The 18-year-old, who plays for Rosenborg in Norway, has made a brilliant name for himself and has been attracting interest from several big clubs.

The likes of Arsenal, Manchester United, Manchester City and Tottenham are all interested in signing the teenager, but only one club can get him.

TBR Football exclusively revealed on Thursday that Arsenal are the most advanced club in the race to sign Nypan from Rosenborg.

Ornstein has also had his say, and he has claimed that the young midfielder really wants a move to the Emirates Stadium.

He said on The Athletic FC podcast: “There are young players that will be on their agenda now.

“I know I reported recently like Nypan from Rosenberg, one of the top young midfielders from what I’ve heard across the game, he’d be very keen on a move to Arsenal. They like him!”

How much will Sverre Nypan cost Arsenal?

Arsenal already have a few exceptional young players.

Ethan Nwaneri and Myles Lewis-Skelly are both regulars in the first team now, and there are a few more in the academy who are coming through.

Nypan, if Arsenal sign him, could have a role under Mikel Arteta as well, and TBR can confirm that he can be signed for £10 million.

Rosenborg want a deal finalised for the young sensation during their international break, with their new league season due to kick off in April.

Nypan has been hailed as a player with ‘outstanding’ vision and has even been compared to West Ham star Lucas Paqueta by Football Talent Scout.
