Arsenal are in the market for a new striker, and there's one player in particular who has caught Mikel Arteta's eye.

Arsenal have looked at a number of strikers in recent times, Dusan Vlahovic is an Arsenal target, while. Jonathan David has been linked to Arsenal too.

However, neither of those players are Arsenal's main striker target.

Indeed, Mikel Arteta is a big fan of Alexander Isak, and Isak is Arsenal's top striker target.

However, a deal to sign Isak will be difficult. After all, he's the best player for the richest club in the world.

Speaking on Curtis Shaw TV, Ben Jacobs has been discussing Arsenal's interest in Isak, and he's claimed that Arsenal could look to do a mirrored deal for Isak in the summer in order to send another player in Newcastle's direction.

Arsenal could sign Alexander Isak in two-way deal.

Jacobs claimed that we could see Isak move to Arsenal in what he dubbed a 'mirrored deal'.

These types of deals have become popular in recent times amid the Premier League's new profit and sustainability rules.

Joe Rodon and Archie Gray moved between Tottenham and Leeds respectively last summer, while Newcastle did a deal involving Elliot Anderson and Odysseas Vlachodimos last summer too.

"I expect in the summer a lot of clubs will have to do a series of mirrored deals. So if Arsenal want Isak I think it's very likely they try to find someone that Newcastle may want in return and do a mirrored deal in order to make the overall package a bit more economical.

"Clubs have learned to navigate, and they've replaced the old school swap deal with mirrored or separate deals or whatever you want to call it."

Who could Newcastle sign from Arsenal?

This is a deal structure that would make sense if both teams want to get around the profist and sustainability rules somewhat.

However, the big question would be, which player from Arsenal would Newcastle want?

Well, interestingly, Newcastle have been linked with a few Arsenal players in recent times.

Newcastle wanted Oleksandr Zinchenko last year, while Reiss Nelson was on Newcastle's radar too at one point.

Meanwhile, Leandro Trossard was a Newcastle target before he joined Arsenal from Brighton as well.

Arsenal may have to move multiple of these players in order to get Isak through the door at the Emirates. After all, Isak is being valued at £200m in some circles.

This deal will remain very difficult to do in the summer transfer window, but if Arsenal are to sign Isak, they may have to send one or two of their current players to Tyneside.

This is certainly a situation to keep an eye on as we head into the summer.
