Jarrod Bowen has suffered a fractured foot in what could be a serious blow to West Ham and manager Julen Lopetegui.

Captain Bowen was substituted in their 5-0 defeat at home to Liverpool on Sunday.

The Hammers forward sustained the injury to his left foot during the first half and played on until the 60th minute.

He is expected to miss four to six weeks of action, potentially ruling him out until mid-February.

Manager Lopetegui is currently fighting for his future at the London Stadium just seven months after arriving at the club.

West Ham are currently 13th in the Premier League table after eight defeats in their opening 19 games.

talkSPORT understands Lopetegui’s job hinges on the FA Cup third round clash against Aston Villa next week.

This follows a Premier League trip to champions Manchester City, live on talkSPORT 2 on January 4.

Lopetegui will now head into both fixtures without star man Bowen, who has scored six goals this season.
