Juventus returned from the international break over the weekend, and while it wasn't the best performance they were able to get three points in a game against Lazio in which they were far from being full strength.

It is no secret that Juventus' stretch of games between the October and November international breaks is going to be quite intense. There are seven fixtures in just over three weeks, with not a lot of time to rest but plenty of tough opposition seemingly around every turn.

Saturday night saw the start of that stretch.

And while the performance wasn't great on the whole — no matter if it was against 11 men or 10 after Lazio's Alessio Romagnoli was sent off midway through the first half — Juventus avoided yet another scoreless draw.

Sometimes you need a little luck to go your way — and that certainly was the case against Lazio at the Allianz Stadium.

On Episode 254 of The Old Lady Speaks Podcast, we discuss:

  • Takeaways from Juventus' 1-0 win over Lazio on Satudday.
  • A larger discussion on the performance against Lazio — what went right, what went wrong, and how much did the injury situation truly impact what Juve could or couldn't do.
  • What's up with Douglas Luiz to start his Juventus career?
  • Cristiano Giuntoli has made it clear: there's no room for Paul Pogba at Juventus — and that's even after the French midfielder went on a media blitz following his doping suspension being reduced.
  • Twitter questions — including Douglas Luiz being a bad transfer, what is preventing Timothy Weah from being an effective player at Juventus, and who could be a good backup for Dusan Vlahovic if said back was going to be a young Italian striker.
