The first Serie A game of 2025 looked a lot like the final ones of 2024, with Juventus taking a lead and then giving it up on their way to recording their 12th draw of the 2024-25 season and extend the frustrations of the past couple of months.

New year, new. Juventus?

Nope, new year and same Juve that we saw for the last few months of 2024.

The 19th game on Juventus' 2024-25 campaign record ended like 11 of the previous 18 ended — in a draw. The second Derby della Mole of the season did not end as the first one did, this time with Juventus and cross-town rival Torino playing out a 1-1 draw at the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino. During Saturday night's draw, a lot of the same problems that have hampered Juventus over the last two or three months again came to the fore.

One mistake defensively cost them. So did the inability to hold a lead as well as add onto it when they were still ahead 1-0. And so did the inability to retake the lead after Torino tied things up right before halftime.

It's just another chapter in what is turning into an incredibly frustrating season. So on and on it goes, when the draws will stop nobody knows.

On Episode 267 of The Old Lady Speaks Podcast, we discuss:

  • Takeaways from Juventus' Derby della Mole draw against Torino.
  • With the 12th draw of the 2024-25 campaign, Juve made some history — becoming the first-ever Serie A club to record that many draws within the first half of the season ... ever.
  • So why does this keep happening to this Juventus team and why have the margins become so small with this team when it comes to dropping points?
  • We're officially two weeks into the January transfer window, and Juventus are reportedly in the midst of multiple negotiations to try and bring in some much-needed depth.
  • Questions from social media — including how much blame Cristiano Giuntoli should get for all of Juventus' inconsistencies this season and what's up with Teun Koopmeiners' struggles and inability to replicate his Atalanta form.
