Bolton Wanderers youngster Charlie Hayes-Green has extended his loan at FC United of Manchester, as confirmed by their official club website.

Bolton Wanderers have let the defender extend his stay with the Northern Premier League side. He will now remain in non-league until the end of the season and return to his parent club in the summer.

Hayes-Green, 20, joined FC United of Manchester back in November to get some experience under his belt. He has enjoyed plenty of game time and has helped them rise up the league.

In this latest update regarding his situation, the Trotters have confirmed on their website that he will be sticking around at Broadhurst Park. They have also allowed Noah Halford to prolong his deal with Mark Beesley’s side by another month.

FC United of Manchester are currently sat in 12th place in the table and are back in action this weekend away at Macclesfield.

Bolton Wanderers will keep an eye on how Hayes-Green does over the coming months.

The Trotters signed him back in June 2023 and he linked up with their B team.

At the time, he told their website: “I’m really excited to start a new chapter at Bolton Wanderers. It’s a really proud moment for myself and my family. I’ve learnt a lot from being at Liverpool for so long and I need to transfer all of those skills to help me next season at Bolton.

“The game has changed a lot and it’s really important to be comfortable on the ball as a centre-half. Hopefully I can show that in my performances because it’s something I really enjoy.

“Bolton has a real buzz about the place. The stadium is a statement in itself.”

Hayes-Green was on the books at Liverpool before joining Bolton Wanderers.

He played for the Reds at various different youth levels before heading out the exit door at Anfield.

The centre-back was loaned out by the Trotters to Clitheroe last term to boost his development.

What now?

Hayes-Green will be looking to break into Bolton Wanderers’ first-team down the line.

For now though, he has to keep his place in FC United of Manchester’s starting XI as they prepare to play table toppers Macclesfield, who are managed by ex-Derby County and Birmingham City man Robbie Savage.

The Trotters are in action on Saturday away at Rotherham United following their win against Exeter City last time out.
