Bolton Wanderers are among the sides eyeing Joel Colwill in case Cardiff City recall him from Cheltenham Town, as per Football League World.
Bolton Wanderers will be hoping a productive January transfer window can set them up for a better 2025 after a first half of the season to forget.
After missing out on promotion in the play-offs again last season, many expected the Trotters to mount a similar push. That has not been the case though, with the club sat 10th in the League One table and four points off the play-offs.
A fruitful winter window may change their fortunes. No new signings have been made yet, though Aaron Morley has been recalled from Wycombe Wanderers after a starring stint.
Now though, news of a Bolton Wanderers transfer target has emerged from Football League World, who claim the north west outfit are among the admirers of Welsh prodigy Joel Colwill.
The 20-year-old has starred for Cheltenham Town so far this season, chipping in with nine goals and three assists from midfield in 28 games. As such, parent club Cardiff City may recall him and send him to a level higher than League Two.
That has put Bolton Wanderers on alert, though fellow League One sides Bristol Rovers and Exeter City are both keen as well, it is added.
