Leeds United saw Cody Drameh head out the exit door this past summer following the end of his contract after his loan at Birmingham City ended.

Leeds United loaned the full-back to the Blues last season and he went on to play 30 games in all competitions for the Midlands outfit, 28 of which came in the league, as they ended up getting relegated to League One.

Drameh, 22, was offered a new deal by the Whites but he decided to turn it down. He subsequently became available as a free agent and weighed up his options.

Hull City swooped to sign him on a three-year deal in late July, with the club holding an option to extend his stay in East Yorkshire by a further 12 months on top of that.

After linking up with the Tigers, he told their website: “I’m really happy to be here. It feels like it’s been coming for a bit of time for me. What attracted me was the owner and the interest the club showed in me. Everyone seemed like they really wanted me. It’s a pleasure to feel wanted and that was something that attracted me.”

Drameh has settled in well at Hull City and is enjoying plenty of game time in East Yorkshire.

He has made 13 appearances in all competitions for the Tigers and has chipped in with one goal away at QPR.

The Londoner had to initially bide his time for an opportunity under Tim Walter and couldn’t get into the team at right-back ahead of skipper Lewie Coyle.

He then got his chance at left-back ahead of Ryan Giles, despite being right-footed, and he has been a regular in that position over the past couple of months.

Hull City finished 7th in the table last term under former boss Liam Rosenior but have struggled in this campaign.

They are 19th and are only above the drop zone on goal difference.

The Tigers are winless in their last seven outings and will want to return to winning ways away at Luton Town up next.

Leeds United days

Leeds United signed Drameh back in 2020 from Fulham and he went on to play 10 matches for the Whites.

He was loaned out to Cardiff City, Luton Town and Birmingham City to get experience and has now made Hull City his home.
