Birmingham City want to sign a ‘fresh face’ in defence this winter, according to journalist Alan Nixon on his Patreon page.

Birmingham City are keen to bolster their defensive ranks in the upcoming January transfer window ahead of the second-half of the season. They are currently eyeing promotion from League One at the first time of asking.

The Blues were relegated from the Championship earlier this year after finishing in the bottom three along with Huddersfield Town and Rotherham United. They turned to former Celtic, Leicester City and Tottenham Hotspur number two Chris Davies as their new manager over the summer.

The Midlands outfit have since adapted well to life in the third tier and are currently sat in 2nd place in the table behind Wycombe Wanderers. They are two points behind the Chairboys with a game in-hand.

In this latest update regarding the club’s transfer plans, reporter Nixon has claimed on his Patreon that they want to bring in a new defender.
