Lincoln City have offered captain Paudie O’Connor a new deal amid Championship and League One interest, according to Football Insider.

Lincoln City have had a tougher time of things of late, embarking on a dismal run of form over the past few months.

It has seen the Imps fall away from the play-off fight after a fine start to the campaign. The hopes were that they could push for the top six after just coming up short last season, but the chances of that have slimmed.

The slide may well leave Michael Skubala’s side susceptible to losing key players this year, and it is claimed one man attracting admirers glances is defender and club captain Paudie O’Connor.

Football Insider reports that 27-year-old O’Connor has unnamed admirers in both the Championship and League One, but Lincoln City aren’t giving up on their chances of retaining him by any means.

The Imps have moved to offer the Irishman a new deal, the report adds. O’Connor signed a three-year deal upon arrival from Bradford City in 2022, so he’ll be available for nothing at the end of the season as things stand.

Clubs are keen to pounce with a shrewd move potentially on the cards.
