Wycombe Wanderers have beaten fellow EFL sides to a deal for Newmarket Town youngster Ryan Cole, according to Football Insider.

Wycombe Wanderers are enjoying a fantastic 2024/25 campaign to date and they’ll be out to continue that when the latest international break comes to an end.

There was quiet optimism among the Adams Park faithful coming into this season while the wider League One fanbase expected more of the same from the Chairboys, perhaps pushing for a play-off place. However, they’ve exceeded the expectations of even their own supporters.

Matt Bloomfield’s side sit top of the League One table after a remarkable run of form. They’re two points ahead of big-spending Birmingham City but have played one game more.

January is sure to be an important window for Wycombe Wanderers as they look to avoid resting on their laurels and now, it is claimed the Chairboys already have one new addition lined up.

Football Insider claims that the League One leaders have agreed to sign non-league star Ryan Cole.

The 19-year-old has been in on trial over recent weeks and his impressive efforts have promoted Wanderers to strike a deal. He’ll come in from Isthmian League North Division side Newmarket Town, where he had notched six goals in 23 games, playing as a left-back and midfielder.

Other EFL sides were keen, but Cole will be heading to Adams Park.
