Notts County host Gillingham at Meadow Lane on Saturday in their latest League Two outing.
Notts County are sat top of the table after an impressive start to the new season. Stuart Maynard’s side are unbeaten in their first six league fixtures and have won four of them.
They won 4-2 away at newly promoted Bromley last time out to extend their run of form. Jodi Jones scored twice, with Dan Crowley and Alassana Jatta getting their other goals.
The Magpies are hoping that they can gain promotion to League One in this campaign. They are going the right way about it so far and are carrying momentum.
As for Gillingham, they cut ties with Stephen Clemence this past summer following the end of last term and replaced him with former Cambridge United man Mark Bonner. Their former manager has since joined fellow fourth tier outfit Barrow.
Bonner has done a steady job so far and his newly inherited side sit 2nd behind their upcoming opponents. They are currently a point behind after beating Tranmere Rovers 3-0 last Saturday, despite going down to 10 men after Ethan Coleman’s red card.

“Notts County have been the best team in the league so far this season and the likes of Jodi Jones, Dan Crowley andAlassana Jatta will take some stopping at the moment.
“Scoring goals has never really been an issue for the Magpies. They needed to sort out their defence though over the summer and they have managed to tighten things up at the back.
“Gillingham have only lost once so far this term and will be a test for the hosts. The Kent side are also eyeing promotion to League One and could make a statement this weekend with a win at Meadow Lane.
“I can’t see anything other than a home win at the moment though and I think Stuart Maynard’s side will be too strong.”
Prediction: Notts County 2-1 Gillingham

“I think we’re in for a really competitive game here.
“Notts County deserve big credit for sticking by Stuart Maynard after his difficult start to life at Meadow Lane. Many other clubs would have acted in a rash manner, moving him on after the tricky spell last season, but they retained the faith and have been repaid in a big way.
“As for Gillingham, Mark Bonner always felt like a smart appointment, and it’s showing early on. They can definitely go to Meadow Lane and get something too as they bid to maintain a strong start of their own.
“I think we’re in for a bit of a cracker here. I’ll say this ends 2-2.”
