Plymouth Argyle have seen an approach for Walsall manager Mat Sadler knocked back, according to Football League World.
Plymouth Argyle are on the lookout for a new boss after making the call to part ways with manager Wayne Rooney.
There had been bright moments in Rooney’s tenure, mainly coming on home turf, and it was clear he retained the backing of his squad. However, dismal form and terrible results on the road proved to be the downfall of the former Derby County and Birmingham City boss.
A replacement is now needed at Home Park with the Pilgrims searching for the perfect candidate. They need to be lifted off the foot of the Championship table and out of the relegation zone over the coming months if they’re to avoid a return to League One football.
Now, it is claimed Plymouth Argyle have been knocked back in a move for one potential target.
Football League World writes that the Championship side have been rejected by League Two leaders Walsall after making an approach to speak to manager Mat Sadler. The 39-year-old was fancied by key figures at Home Park but it seems their interest has fallen at the first hurdle with the Saddlers holding firm.
