Walsall defender Harry Williams has held talks with St Mirren, according to Sky Sports.

Walsall face a battle to keep hold of the player with his contract up at the end of the season. He is due to become a free agent in the summer as things stand.

Williams, 22, has been a key player for the Saddlers so far this season and has helped them rise to the top of the League Two table. He has made 26 appearances in all competitions, 19 of which have come in the league, and he has scored two goals.

In this latest update regarding his future in the Midlands by Sky Sports, St Mirren have held discussions with him regarding a potential switch to the Scottish Premiership. They are positioned in 8th under Stephen Robinson.

Walsall are 12 points clear of Crewe Alexandra in 2nd as they eye promotion to League One.
